Who we are

DanceIT is operated by Exaion PR Novi Sad, Maksima Gorkog 39, Novi Sad, Vojvodina 21000, Serbia ("we", "us"). We run the website danceit.club (the "Site") and the DanceIT mobile app (the "App"). This policy explains what we collect when you use them, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Account data — your email address, a password (stored only as a hash), and the profile details you choose to add (display name, photo, links).
  • Studio and group membership — which studios and dance groups you join or request to join, your role in them, and any invitations you accept.
  • Attendance — check-ins recorded when you scan a class QR code or an instructor marks you present, including the class, date and time.
  • Optional face enrollment (AI attendance) — if you explicitly consent in a studio that uses AI-assisted attendance, the photos you enrol and the face templates derived from them. You can revoke this consent at any time in the App and the enrollment is then no longer used for recognition.
  • Device push tokens — an identifier for your device so we can send you the notifications you opt into. Removed when you turn notifications off or sign out on that device.
  • Content you create — dance moves, videos, bookmarks, event RSVPs and ratings you add to the App.
  • Technical data — crash reports and basic diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version) so we can fix problems.

Why we use it

  • To run your account, studio memberships and attendance records.
  • To let studios see who attended their classes.
  • To send notifications you have turned on (class reminders, studio news).
  • To keep the service secure and to detect abuse.
  • To diagnose crashes and improve reliability.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of service providers who process data only on our instructions:

  • Amazon Web Services (EU — Ireland, eu-west-1) — hosting, database, media storage and transactional email.
  • Sentry — crash and error reporting for the App and our servers.
  • New Relic — server performance monitoring.
  • PostHog — server-side feature flags (which features are switched on).
  • Apple and Google — push notification delivery to your device.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third-party advertising.

Sharing with studios

When you join a studio or group, its staff can see your profile name, your membership and your attendance at their classes. They cannot see your attendance at other studios.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active. Attendance records are kept as part of the studio's history. Face-enrollment photos and templates are deleted when you revoke consent or delete your account. Crash reports are retained for a limited period by our error-reporting provider.

Your choices and rights

  • Update or remove profile details in the App at any time.
  • Turn notifications on or off per type in Settings.
  • Revoke face-enrollment consent from your enrollment in the App.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing contact@danceit.club.

Children

DanceIT is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data without a guardian's involvement through a studio.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will also be announced in the App.
